Our client is looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals to join our team. This committed team works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Our client. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center's MEP operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the customers within our data centers.
The Site Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response. The Chief Engineer serves as an expert technical resource interacting with onsite Data Center Engineers and any third-party vendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center and to support the company.
Responsibilities
Leadership of Data Center Engineering Team
Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance
Responsible for the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors
Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc
Data Center capacity planning and reporting
May assist in the design and build out of new facilities
Work with other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency
Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met
Responsible for asset and inventory management
Respond to Facility Related Emergency call outs – second level escalation point for Data Center facilities related issues / failures
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment
4+ years of Facilities Management Experience
Hands on self-starter with demonstrated drive and ambition
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task across projects
Computer proficiency with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
Strong writing skills as well as verbal interpersonal/communication skills
Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability
Ability to function both in a team-oriented setting, and independently
Strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility, and entrepreneurship.

Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors in applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades
Operating engineering licenses such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
Stationary Engineering or Building Engineering License
Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
CFC license
NFPA 70E
7+ years' experience in information technology field, preferably in a data center environment
10+ years supervisory or personnel management experience
Data center experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field (equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree)
